Catalyst A Tethered Novel Book 1 Jennifer Snyder 9781484192412 Books
I recently purchased this book during a Facebook Event after the cover pulled me in. Addison is a recent high school graduate who inherits this mysterious house hours away from her adoptive home. Along with the house, comes secrets, lots and lots of secrets. With those secrets, comes the reality of meeting new people who might hold the key to finding out where she comes from and why she was put up for adoption. This book was really well written, had a great amount of intrigue built into all the characters. I loved that Adrianne was a girl trying to figure out what the future held for her, but strong enough to embrace a new town, new people and such uncertainty. I loved the pull between her and the others in the story and how the author really leaves you wanting more. I love a book that leaves you wanting to jump right into the next and this book definitely did that. If you like magick, love, and secrets this book is perfect. I recommend this for YA/NA audiences, as there is some 18+ references throughout. I give this 5 fangs! Bring on Conjure!

Nice beginning to an interesting series, I'm not a fan of cliff hanger endings which is why I gave it 4 stars, but I'm interested in finding out what happens next to Addison
Oh wow, cliffhanger, literally! I've been meaning to read Catalyst for a while, and I wish I would have sooner! I need the second book now!! What a way to leave us hanging lol. Who is Theo, and what is he up to? Can Kace be trusted? So many questions!
I truly enjoyed reading Catalyst. The story premise is creative. It has everything I love....a strong female lead character.... Magic....danger....hot guys....ROMANCE!
I really enjoyed this book. When I get some of my other books read I intent to buy the rest of the series. It has an interesting story line & good character development
The story itself is an okay read, broken into many chapters that are spaced out so that you digest the content at your leisure, and the cover is nothing short of gorgeous. However the story take a bit of time to get into and starts out slow before it introduces that key feature that draws the audience to the story out of the vast paranormal romance genre in the first place Magick.
I thought that this book was an easy read. It was so easy to get into. I really enjoyed the characters even though some of them I wish that there was more info on them. I thought that the romance with Addison and Kace was sweet and maybe a little bit to quick. My favorite part though was the ending when the "red", showed up and it was a good touch of danger and suspense.
This was a quick fun read for me, lots of magic and mayhem with the aspect of Hoodoo thrown in. Exploration of being adopted and then the exposure to magic has Addison's head spinning trying to figure out what is going on in the small town of Soul Harbor. Throw into the mix the sexy Kace Sullivan and a resident bad boy who wants her gone for some unknown reason, Addison is struggling to survive the less than welcoming locals. It felt a bit slow in the beginning and the story did not seem to mesh together at times but there was plenty of action and magic to keep you guessing. I had to get book two to see what happened next.
