The Final Warning Maximum Ride Book 4 James Patterson Books

"The Final Warning" is a children's fantasy about children with wings, narrated by the 14-year old girl, "Maximum Ride" (which sounds a bit kinky to adults). The story is obviously slanted to young female readers. The premise is obviously appealing, but poorly developed in "The Final Warning"---albeit probably adequately developed in earlier installments in the series.

The story could also be described as "science fiction without the science"---the sort of cliched pseudo-science fiction of Hollywood screen writers who flunked their high school science courses.

Unfortuntely there is little plot or adventure. Instead, there is heavy-handed preaching about "Global Warning". I found the long stretchs of "blog" entries to be particularly tedious. Finally, what the heck is "The Final Warning". The title has nothing whatsoever to do with the story.

The Final Warning Maximum Ride Book 4 James Patterson Books Reviews

Overall, the book was awesome. I loved the storyline, and I thought the details were perfect. My favorite part in the book was when they found out they were going to Antarctica. I loved the reactions you put in, and how they felt on the boat. I thought you could change one main is Total growing wings. I thought that was a very lame thing, like you were struggling for something to say. I also thought that you could've had a big showdown with Max and Gozen. Max has a history of this, in every book there is always a big fight between her and a super-villain. I like the pattern, so when you decided to change it, I was very disappointed. Once again, the overall storyline and details were great.

Ok, first off, I LOVE the first three books in Maximum Ride- Love them to death. The action, sense of humor, friendship, romance, and a strong heroine, and just the Team aspect- outcast kids together because of a common goal- (I just eat that stuff up)- made those three books into my top ten favorite books- along with the Hunger Games and Deltora Quest-(Both AMAZING books, by the way). And also- I've read up to book five Max. Ok- let's begin, shall we?

A little history One day my mom and I were at Wal-mart, and as my mom was paying for the groceries, i was taking a last minute look at the books section- where I found the Angel Experiment. I wasn't going to buy it at first-until I saw the phrase, "-Find out how she really feels about Fang" and some other cool stuff. It was only 5 dollars, so mom allowed me to get it. When I brought it to school the next day- and finished it 7 hours later with school time. I would rate that book 5/5- and the sequel surpassed that- becoming a 8/5 to me- all the more romance- and by the end of the first part- that feeling of "All you have are each other, no one else." Eh, the third book i would say is a 3.5/5- I did like it....but not nearly as much as the 1+2. But the moment when the Fugitives (AWESOME!!! EPIC!!!!) turned to protectors (....why did they change such awesomeness...) and the Saving the World was not beating a Big Bad Villain of Epic Level 1000 Dark Evil Fire (Like I, for one, expected), but Global Warming...Maximum Ride was killed. Oh, not immediately, my good friend, no, slowly, slowly, until our awesome female kick-butt Max is reduced to a Fang-crazed annoying status- GETTING JEALOUS OF AN OLD WOMAN WHO FANG DOESN'T EVEN LIKE BECAUSE HE IS TOTALLY IN LOVE WITH MAX!!!!! ((Sorry, book 5 getting to me again.))

okay...not what I expected...global warming...but okay...what are you going to do, Mr.Patterson to make Global Warming interesting and make that an enemy all of your millions of child, teen, and adult Max-fans want to fight Global Warming?

NOTHING!!!! HE WAS JUST PREACHY!!!

And...just why was the flock showing off their wings to everyone? The only thing that seemed Maximum Ride-style was the pizza. Yes, the only thing that I enjoyed was the exploding pizza part- for all of TEN PAGES!!!!!!

My advice is to just read 1-3. And when the last book comes out, just read wikipedia to find out the ending. You will just end up disappointed by the destructing fun, humor, and most of all HEART that was in the trilogy.
Okay, for whoever is reading this review don't listen to anyone who rated this book one star or anyone who says it was all about global warming and that it bored them to tears!

So, max and the flock are on a mission in Antarctica which involves global warming. I don't know what people are talking about when they say the entire book is just about global warming cause it's NOT! It talks briefly about global in the middle of the book and talks about global warming at the very end when max gives a speech about it and that's all. So if you are gonna let 5 out of 300 pages in this book ruin the entire thing for you then that's fine but I'm not. Besides there is nothing wrong with learning something while reading.

So one of the reasons I gave this 3 stars is because this series is beginning to feel a bit repetitive. I'm not going to give spoilers but...
Let's just say max and the flock get captured by the bad guys AGAIN and escape AGAIN! Couldn't JP come up with something else? That's what happened in the past I don't know... um.... 3 books! I need something besides get captured then escape. Hopefully the next book will give me something new and different.

And the final reason I rated three stars is because Max is kind of getting annoying! obviously there is something between Fang and max! Every time he tries to tell her that she runs off! Max needs to make up her mind! I feel bad for Fang because she keeps rejecting him even though she knows she likes him!!!!

Well, I had some complaints but overall I would recommend this book to anyone who has read the first 3 in the series. I look forward to reading the next one D
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book! What a great addition to an excellent series. I only wish it had been longer!
I love how James Patterson tries to get kids excited about reading and includes such important messages in his books. This series would be great for both teens & preteens as well as adults. I'm 31 years old and I can't wait to hand them down to my daughter.
